Meet the Two Men who Visited all the Rainforest Cafes in North America

The Rainforest Cafe is an amazing rainforest-themed restaurant. Now you may ask, how did this glorious place come to be? Well, the Rainforest Cafe was created by Steven Schussler, it just started as a simple concept by the entrepreneur. Later after many years of work, the simple concept turned into an actual restaurant, the first of many being in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minneapolis.

I have always known about this spectacular phenomenon for years, but my interest peaked when I stumbled upon a video, made by a YouTuber named Ted Nivison. Ted Nivison is a social media influencer who posts primarily commentary content on YouTube, he has also directed 2 music videos for the band, Lovejoy. Along with Nivison, another YouTuber by the name of Eddy Burback, made a video about the Rainforest Cafe. These two YouTube personalities joined together to make the fantastic trip of visiting all the Rainforest Cafes.

The YouTuber duo goes on about the Rainforest Cafe and the beauties of this place.  From them, I found out that currently there are only 18 Rainforest Cafes in North America, 16 of those being in the United States and 2 being in Canada. This information is pretty devastating to hear considering that at its peak, there were a total of 34 Rainforest Cafes in the United States.

As the video shows off the glorious restaurant locations there are still locations that show the non-glamorous parts of the restaurant chain. We can start to notice the decor of some locations looking sadder than before, why is this? Well some people have said this could be due to the  Covid 19 pandemic others believe this could be just the dying time of themed restaurants and covid just sped up the process. Whatever the reason, it's sad to see this beloved themed restaurant go down the drain and close their businesses.

Moving on from the sad realities of the condition of the restaurant chain, how do people still care to visit the Rainforest Cafe? This could be because of the entertaining videos posted by People like Ted Nivison and Eddy Burback. The videos posted online captivate their audiences in all the right ways, making you compelled to be passionate about theme restaurants too. Overall, the power of social media and a good post can go far in today's society.

Whatever the reason that Ted Nivison and Eddy Burback decided to spend their beloved time on these monumental videos, their contributions are well-loved, by me and many others. From Ted's explanation of the Wild Brunch to the endless safari fries ordered during the voyage. There was a mountain of reasons to love the videos and the Rainforest Cafe.

I have always loved Themed restaurants or silly little places with animatronics like Chuck E Cheese. But the time will always come when these places slowly start to inch closer to the doomed fate of these glorious-themed restaurants. Chuck E  Cheese, going bankrupt, the Rainforest Cafe population declining, and as of recently the death of singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffet could leave his chain restaurant, Margaritaville (which Ted and Eddy visited all over America) could doom his beloved business.

Whenever the untimely demise of the Rainforest Cafe comes I will be ready. Even if I miss the thunderstorms every 20 or so minutes, Ozzie the orangutan, the Galveston Rainforest Cafe with the water ride, and many other features of the restaurant. I long to visit one of the Rainforest Cafes before their death, if not permitted by fate, I will still hold this themed restaurant near and dear to my heart as well as the countless times I rewatched Eddy Burback and Ted Nivison go crazy on their trip.  I will always be a Rainforest Cafe membership club member in my heart, from now until the day I too meet the same fate as the Rainforest Cafe.
