 Was It Really Just A Movie?

Most of us know the movie franchise“Scream”. Throughout the series the man in a white and black mask Goes around the city of woodsboro calling his victims with the iconic line. “What's your favorite scary movie?”. The main character who's also the main victim is Sidney prescott (Played by Neve Campbell) Her relationship with the masked man is portrayed through the movie and the sequels that were later to come. Except little does she know the man behind the mask happens to be her boyfriend in the original movie. (Billy Loomis who is played by Skeet Ulrich).

What most people don't know is that the movies were inspired by true events. Now some say this isn't true. But if you've seen the documentary “Lights camera murd*r scream” You would know the real story of the Gainesville R11per. “Danny Rolling was an American serial ki11er who lived an unhappy horrible childhood who later grew up to pass that trauma onto his victims”. 

 In 1990 rolling went on a rampage where he murd*er* 5 college students at the University of florida. And committed more crimes later on after the college students.

Which brings us to the second scream movie.”Scream 2”, The University of Ohio where the characters Randy (played by Jaime Kennedy) and Sidney attend college. Where they are attacked by the masked ki11er known as ghost face (who spoiler alert happens to be the famous mother of billy loomis as she seeks revenge for her son). The ki11er isn’t unmasked until the end which resembles when danny wasn't caught for the murd*rs until he was caught for a burglary in september of 1990 almost 9 months from the college incident in which he then later confessed to the murd*rs.

Throughout the movie the victim is called by a burner phone that the masked man (or women) is using. Hearing some iconic lines such as “What's your favorite scary movie?”, “Wanna play a game?” In which the character asks questions that relate to horror movies. “Who was the ki!!er in the friday the thirteenth movie?” Ghost face asked the character Casey (who is seen in the opening clip of scream) “Jason” she proudly yells.Though The correct answer being Jason's mother. Which in result led to her de@th as well as her boyfriends.

Wes Craven spoke about the movie in an interview. He talked about the different influences he had. This one time he said he had an encounter with this 12 year old boy who, based on a horror movie, tried to recreate it.Which gave craven the idea of turning the research of the Gainesville r!pper into a classic. So in conclusion based on these resources (Stated below) I am here to believe that the scream movies weren't just a movie, and were based on the cases of the Gainesville R!pper.
